Tamba Wine 2021 Pinot Noir Rosé
Although wine has been produced in Japan for well over 100 years, there is still a sense that the wine industry is still learning and emerging. Tamba Wines Pinot Noir Rose comes from the Kyoto region of Japan, which is perhaps better known for its sake. In the glass, it is more orange than pink with a fairly simple nose of wet stone, cherry and strawberry. On tasting, the wine is simple with muted raspberry, sour cherry, cranberry and strawberry. The flavour intensity and complexity are simple and drop off quickly, leaving a short finish. The 2021 vintage is unremarkable, but if you want an off-the-beaten-track Rosé from a very off-the-beaten-track wine-producing country, give this a try.
